Land Rover Fire Engines were built on 80-inch and 88-inch chassis.
These small and easily manoeuvrable fire tenders. Were capable of operating in restricted spaces that larger appliances could not reach.
Many were sold to works fire services or small airfields where they filled the role of first-response vehicles - this was the Rover works 88 inch.
Although Land Rover subcontracted the construction of later Fire Engines to specialist manufacturers through their Special Projects Department, the Series I models were actually built at the Rover factory.
The vehicles were all petrol engined.
